Key Urban Planning was established on the Directors strong track record in strategic planning, development assessment, policy preparation, Land & Environment Court experience and an in depth understanding of governance issues within Local Government.

About Peter Fryar

Peter Fryar has over 30 years experience in environmental planning assessment. He has held positions at a senior management level in Local Government including Hornsby,Byron and Wyong Shire councils. Key Urban Planning was established in 2014 and draws on the depth of knowledge and experience of Peter as a qualified Town Planner.

As a Consultant & Local Government Planner, Peter has represented numerous Councils preparing & presenting evidence as an Expert Witness in the Land and Environment Court & consulted with and instructed solicitors. He has also prepared numerous submissions including SEE’s and EIA’s on various planning proposals on behalf of clients on both Local and State Significant developments. His work included preparation of submissions on Housing Strategies and rezoning proposals.
Peter has assessed and managed/determined numerous development proposals many of a major and complex nature. He is well known and well connected in the planning & development industry & is a highly respected Planning professional.

At a strategic level, Peter has had significant input into Council Management Plans and Service Delivery Reviews including individual Service Unit Business Plans and change management, as well as budgetary planning and management. Peter’s key strengths relate to his stakeholder management, strategic & analytical skills & his ability to create strong long-term effective working relationships.
Peter is tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Town Planning from the University of New South Wales and a Corporate Member of the Planning Institute of Australia. His work ethos is based on being professional, positive and motivated with a ‘can do’ attitude. His initiative and drive is demonstrated by his consistent track record of success.
